Object description

IC5068 is a low emission nebula composed of clouds of mostly hydrogen gas. It is located in the region of the nebulae of North America and the Pelican in the constellation Cygnus. It is often overlooked due to its two neighbors which are much brighter and easier to observe and photograph. It is characterized by streaks of dark clouds.

In my picture, the nebula is in the center, slightly to the left. As you can see, there is a lot of cloudiness all around.

Due to its very weak signal, this nebula is very difficult to photograph. As it is mostly found in hydrogen, I used the Hydrogen-Alpha narrow band filter as a luminance image, which made it possible to obtain the vast majority of the nebula's luminosity while effectively blocking light pollution. extreme from my observation site. With a total exposure time of 3 hours in a 2 × 2 bin (equivalent to 12 hours in a 1 × 1 bin), I managed to resolve the nebula very well while capturing a lot of cloudiness all around it. Looking at the picture, it looks like a painting of a work of art! There are wonders to be seen in the universe.
